• Zippered Themed Pencil Case (Advanced) – A more challenging upcycling sewing project requiring a sewing machine and basic sewing skills. Suitable for ages 9–15+.

Developed by a registered Occupational Therapist, this activity supports the development of fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, scissor skills, spatial awareness, construction skills, creativity and problem solving, while encouraging children to learn about reuse and reducing plastic waste.

 Materials required:

 The Simple Purse version requires additional items such as plastic snap buttons and snap pliers, or Velcro dots (available from most craft stores). Snap buttons are recommended, as Velcro may not adhere well to all PVC materials.
